You are a First Choice!

My whole life I always felt a backup plan or 2nd choice when it came to dating. Which don’t get me wrong, a lot of that had to do with my behavior and low self worth. I wasn’t acting like a wife, so why would anyone treat me as so? Sorry to say it but, if you act like a side piece that’s how you’ll get treated! It wasn’t until I learned God’s definition of love and His unwavering love & grace for me that I truly began to love myself.

When you don’t know your value you’ll let anyone have a place in your heart. When you do know your value & worth you begin to weave out things & people that aren’t worthy of occupying your time or space - especially space in your heart!

Ladies, we are worthy of being a mans first choice! This is something a friend would tell me all the time. She even put a sticky note on my mirror that said “you are worthy of being a first choice” so that I would see that every day. When I met Niko he was the first man to not only make me feel like a first choice, but that I was the only choice in the world for him. He is also the first man that I feel like God truly prepared my character for. We have both never been in a relationship where we feel like God has guided every step.

All this to say, embrace your single season. Don’t just date for fun - date when you’re ready because it’s in your single season where God really prepares you and shapes you FOR your future husband. I wouldn’t have been the woman I was when Niko met me had I not healed parts of me that needed healing and voids that needed to be filled by God. You never have to show up perfect because the man God has for you will help you grow in your weak areas. But show up ready to give your WHOLE self, complete in God.
